Get Fit to Fight Cancer

Want to get a great workout in and help raise money for Team CC’s Team in Training fund? Join Jillian Neimeister and Team CC as we host a donation based workout at
Crossfit Cleveland (West) at 5, 6, 7 and 8pm on Friday, February 17.  Registration is required in advance through this website http://teamcc.eventbrite.com/ with a
requested minimum donation is $10.00 per person.

Any fitness level welcome – from newbie to marathoner to experienced CrossFitter – we can accomodate anyone. Each group workout will last one hour and be an “Intro to
Crossfit” style class led by two Certified Crossfit instructors. For the regular CrossFitter, don’t worry Tricia & Jillian will be sure to make sure your experience is worth it. To ensure everyone gets the most from their workout, we will be capping each time slot at 20 people. Sign up for the time slot of your choice, get a great workout and help with an AWESOME cause.

We encourage all Great Lakes members to come out and support this event and show the west side what we have been up to.

Continuing Nutrition Education: Food Prep Course for Paleo and Zone Diets

Have you read all the book and sat through seminars but still can’t figure out how to get started or stick with a good eating plan?

Whether you are interested in Paleo, Zone, Atkins, South Beach, etc. you need to be able to prepare good food. The key to success is preparing plenty of food in advance so that you always have good choices. This course will show you how.

Professional chef Mary Goodwin will teach you how to select and prepare healthy meals in advance so that you always have what you want readily available every day. Mary prepares meals for local families including several professional athletes. She will share her secrets and answer any questions that you have.

Bill and Staci will talk about how to start cleaning up your diet and cover the basics of Paleo and the Zone Diets. They will demonstrate how they prep plenty of food in advance every week.

You will watch and learn how to prepare a variety of foods including homemade beef & turkey jerky, paleo egg muffins, breakfast burgers, kale chips, and a few beef and chicken dishes.

Bill will also show you how to cook a variety of fish including grilled and cedar planked salmon, seared tuna, & chilean sea bass.

This is free to current members of any CrossFit gym and $15 for all others. All proceeds will be donated to the Lakewood Community Service Center.

Paleo Pot Luck Dinner

We have been focusing on nutrition more as of late at Great Lakes.  Now is the time to show off your culinary prowess.  One Friday March 2 at 7:00 pm Patrick and Liz will be hosting a Paleo Pot Luck Dinner at their home.  We ask that you bring a dish to
share with others using a paleo recipe.  If you need help figuring out what that is, you can ask or google it.  You can check out the facebook page for the event here.
