Crossfit in Cleveland

If you live on the East Side of Cleveland and are either interested in starting Crossfit or are an experienced Crossfit athlete, GLCF is the place to be.  We take your fitness goals seriously. Our trainers work hard to make sure that your workouts are safe, effective and appropriate for your current fitness level.

What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is defined as constantly varied functional movements performed at relatively high intensity. All CrossFit workouts are based on functional movements, and these movements reflect the best aspects of gymnastics, weightlifting, running, rowing and more. These are the core movements of life. They move the largest loads the longest distances, so they are ideal for maximizing the amount of work done in the shortest time. Intensity is essential for results and is measurable as work divided by time—or power. The more work you do in less time, or the higher the power output, the more intense the effort. By employing a constantly varied approach to training, functional movements and intensity lead to dramatic gains in fitness.

Functional Movement

Whether you’re young, old, fit or not, when you strip it down to the essentials, Crossfit is the key to achieving a lifetime of optimal fitness. Not only does Crossfit develop the core movements that we all rely on to lead healthy, functional lives, but it also boasts a community of like-minded individuals who become a fitness “family.” Crossfit is a fun way to get fit!

The Great Lakes Crossfit Mission

Our mission at GLCF is to teach all of our members the basic functional movements that are the fundamental elements of CrossFit. We will help you to move safely and efficiently, using the proper mechanics. Intensity will naturally follow, as will continuous improvement.
